
New regulations on waste segregation will introduce an obligation to recycle textiles. From 2025, old clothes and other textiles will have to be segregated just like paper, plastic or glass. Imagine giving a second life to those old ripped jeans that you keep in your closet. It will soon be possible. Textile waste will go to special containers, which will allow it to be processed and reused. 👗👖
Textile recycling has the potential to reduce the amount of waste in landfills and reduce the demand for natural raw materials. ♻️ However, experts emphasize that Poland is not yet ready to fully implement these changes. There is a lack of adequate infrastructure and systems for the effective collection and processing of textile waste. Currently, only 1% of textiles are recycled, which poses a great challenge for our country.
How will this be resolved? We will probably find out in the near future.
